CECAF-PESCAO project is looking for national consultants to identify the challenges hindering the integration of the CECAF management advice into the management processes of all FCWC countries (Benin, Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, Liberia, Nigeria and Togo) and propose mitigation measures through national case studies. These case studies are to contribute to an overall strategy to improve uptake and to develop a tool for monitoring the use of CECAF scientific advice in the future. The overall objective is to ensure effective integration of CECAF management advice into national frameworks and improved Science-Management processes in ECOWAS and other African CECAF member States.
The purpose of the Fishery Committee for the Eastern Central Atlantic (CECAF) is to promote the sustainable utilization of the living marine resources within its area of competence by the proper management and development of the fisheries and fishing operations. The CECAF-PESCAO project is in direct support to CECAF and its members. The CECAF-PESCAO project aims to improve regional governance of marine resources in the southern area of CECAF and strengthen CECAF’s capacity as a knowledge-sharing advisory body for marine resources in Western Africa.
