The Fisheries Committee for the West Central Gulf of Guinea (FCWC) has received four new staff on secondment from Member States.
During the first weekly FCWC staff meeting for 2024, FCWC Secretary-General Dr. Gaston Djihinto welcomed the new staff members and expressed his gratitude to their respective ministries and governments for sending them to contribute to the activities of the Secretariat.
Mr. Brian Sunday (Nigeria) (far left), Mr. Kossi Ahoedo (Togo) (middle left), Mrs. Hannah Ansah (Ghana) (middle right) and Mr. Dotun Adekunmisi (Nigeria) (far right) have joined the staff of the Secretariat on secondment from their respective governments.
Commenting further on the addition of staff, SG Dr. Djihinto stated, “the posting of new staff to the FCWC Secretariat is a palpable demonstration of the Member States’ commitment to collaboration through joint effort and their support for the sustainability of the achievements that we have attained. This increased capacity will doubtless improve our effectiveness, and we are more confident that our plans for this year and beyond will meet with success.”
Mrs. Hannah Ansah is a Deputy Director of Fisheries from Ghana’s Fisheries Commission, formerly stationed at the Greater Accra Regional head office at Tema fishing harbour. Mr Kossi Ahoedo is the head of MCS at Togo’s Ministry of Maritime Economy, Fisheries and Coastal Protection. Mr Brian Sunday is a Senior Fisheries Officer at the Aquaculture Division of the Federal Department of Fisheries and Aquaculture (FDFA) in Nigeria. Mr Dotun Adekunmisi is a Principal Fisheries Officer in the Monitoring, Control and Surveillance Division of the FDFA in Nigeria.
