This report presents the results of the second meeting of the FCWC Ad hoc working group for improving the fisheries statistics in the region held in Cotonou (Benin), from 12 to 14 May 2010.

The workshop was organized jointly by the Fisheries Committee West Central Gulf of Guinea (FCWC) and FAO through its FishCode-STF Project. Five participants from member states of the West Central Gulf of Guinea Fisheries Commission (Ghana, Benin, Togo, Cote d’Ivoire, and Nigeria) attended the meeting.

Overall objective of the workshop was to:

• overview on FAO/FishCode STF activities in the FCWC countries,
• harmonize the methods and data to be collected in the sub region
• develop of FCWC workplan for 2010-2011.
