The Fisheries Committee for the West Central Gulf of Guinea (FCWC) has begun the contracting process to secure a contractor to complete necessary renovations prior to the installation of equipment for the Regional Centre for Monitoring, Control and Surveillance (RCMCS).
The FCWC is currently implementing the European Union-funded Improved Regional Fisheries Governance (PESCAO) project in which a key result area calls for the establishment of RCMCS.
Furthering its commitment made through the Headquarters Agreement signed in 2015, Ghana has provided an additional wing of the Fisheries Scientific Survey Division building in Tema, Ghana, hosting FCWC headquarters, fo the establishment of this RCMCS.
