The Fisheries Committee for the West Central Gulf of Guinea (FCWC) Secretariat held a series of meetings with its partners and national agencies of Togo and Benin in preparation for the pilot joint patrol operation named Isaac Gatorwu.
The pilot joint patrol is the first FCWC sub-regional patrol funded by NORAD and the European PESCAO project, with strong support provided by partners including European Fisheries Control Agency (EFCA) and Trygg Mat Tracking (TMT).
The coordination meeting with the national agencies of Togo and Benin finalized the operational order, focal points, and the communication strategy for the operation, whereas the meeting with the partners clarified roles and defined the level of detail of support each partner will provide.
