The Fisheries Committee for the West Central Gulf of Guinea (FCWC) participated in an EAF-Nansen Forum preceded by a Programme Mini-Symposium, 30 October – 2 November 2023, in Maputo, Mozambique.
The EAF-Nansen Programme Mini-symposium is dedicated to emphasizing the results and achievements under the area of work dedicated to science, and the efforts made to provide data, information, and knowledge in support of sustainable fisheries in an ecosystem context using the research vessel Dr Fridtjof Nansen (guided by the science plan).
The Forum provides an opportunity for dissemination of experiences, identification of best practices, and discussion of strategies pertaining to the EAF-Nansen Programme. It also provides the means for partners to exchange views regarding the past and proposals for future collaborative activities.
The two-hybrid events are a continuation of EAF Nansen’s efforts to build the capacity of fisheries managers and scientists to apply the ecosystem approach to fisheries governance
