The Manager of the French company named CLS (Collection, Localisation, Satellites), Julien Morizur, said on Friday in Luanda that the Angolan inland fishing boats would be controlled through the Electronic Reporting Systems linked to VMS.
According to the manager of CLS, who spoke on the occasion of the 2nd meeting on the monitoring of fishing activities, this system can also quantify fish harvesting activities in and out of exclusive economic zones.
He added that this system is important to the fisheries monitoring centre, as it also helps to have a global vision on the activities of a vessel, its catches or all vessels and their catches.
Regarding the facilities, he stressed that CLS will help Angola in acquiring some nautical facilities.
The meeting was organised by the Ministry of Fisheries in collaboration with the French company, in order to train Angolan executives in the field of taxation, for an effective monitoring of fishing activities and to fight against illegal fishing.
