The workshop was to strengthen fisheries management through capacity building in the use of website resource to share ideas and exchange best practices. It was organised by the commission in collaboation with ACE international Consultant on ICT.
The participants were from Ghana, Benin, Côte d’Ivoire, Liberia, Nigeria and Togo, who make up the regional organisation, created in November 2007, to conserve and manage fisheries stock across the West and Central of the Pacific area.
It is under the Africa Caribbean Pacific FISH 2 project funded by the European Development Fund to help the beneficiary countries improve on their management of the fisheries stock to ensure sustainable exploitation of the natural resources.
Mr. Nadje urged the participants to use the new knowledge and skills they acquired to share experiences to promote good fishing practices to maximise economie and social benefit of fishing for the member countries.
