From 4 to 6 March 2026, the city of the strait hosted a major event for the future of fisheries in Africa: the workshop entitled "Towards the implementation of the blue transformation of fishing ports in the ATLAFCOM region". Bringing together representatives of the member countries of ATLAFCOM, this meeting laid the groundwork for the sustainable modernization of the region's port infrastructure.
