The Fisheries Committee for the West Central Gulf of Guinea (FCWC) seeks an experienced Communications Officer to lead and manage its communications function. The Officer will develop and implement communication strategies, coordinate media engagement, manage digital platforms, support press and visibility activities, and contribute to project communications and M&E.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead FCWC communications strategy.
  • Produce digital/print content and manage social media.
  • Monitor regional and international media on fisheries issues.
  • Manage press events, campaigns, and visibility activities.
  • Support the monitoring, evaluation, and reporting requirements of the FCWC and FCWC projects.
  • Coordinate communication across six member countries.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, PR, or related field (Master’s an asset).
  • 3 - 5– years of communication experience.
  • Strong writing, editing, and digital media skills.
  • Experience with media relations, content production, and campaigns.
  • Experience in regional or development organizations preferred.
  • English required; French required
