The Fisheries Committee for the West Central Gulf of Guinea (FCWC), as one of the partners in the Improved Fisheries Governance in Ghana and the Wider Sub-Region (IFG) project, met with the Board of the Ghana’s Fisheries Commission in Accra, Ghana to introduce the project and seek their support and collaboration for Year 2 implementation.
The meeting included representatives of other IFG project partner organizations, Hen Mpoano (HM), Trygg Mat Tracking (TMT), Environmental Justice Foundation (EJF), and Friends of the Nation (FoN).
Key updates from the meeting include the announcement of a of bi-monthly meeting schedule, a press conference for the Ministry in the first quarter of 2022, support to the Fisheries Ministry to update its website, and exploration of strengthening the relationship between the Fisheries Commission and CSOs by creating a focal point.
