CALL FOR APPLICATIONS
As part of the implementation of its Strategic Action Plan (SAP) 2021-2030, the Fisheries Committee of the West Central Gulf of Guinea (FCWC) has partnered with the International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources (IUCN) to obtain funding from the Global Environment Facility (GEF) to carry out the project “Use of marine spatial planning in the Gulf of Guinea for the implementation of payment for ecosystem services and nature-based coastal solutions.” This project, planned for a duration of three (3) years, from 2024 to 2027, aims to strengthen cooperation and transboundary management of coastal and marine resources and associated ecosystems to improve food security, resilience to climate change and sustainable livelihoods in the FCWC region.
Four (04) components will be implemented to achieve this development objective, namely:
Component 1: Marine spatial planning.
Component 2: Payment for ecosystem services.
Component 3: Nature-based coastal and marine solutions.
Component 4: Capacity building, regional coordination and knowledge management.
In this context, the FCWC Secretariat is seeking to recruit a national consultant in MSP to support the implementation of component 1and provide support for components 2, 3 and 4.
I- SCOPE OF THE MISSION
The National MSP Consultant is recruited on a competitive basis and is bound by a performance contract with the FCWC, the project executing agency. The Consultant The national project will work under the supervision of the Project Coordinator and in close collaboration with the International MSP Consultant, the Fisheries Directorate and the National Focal Point in order to contribute to the achievement of the following results: 1) Improved mapping and management of coastal and marine areas, 2) Establishment of a MSP national and regional to strengthen cooperation and support financing partnerships, 3) Improving the organization of regional integrated ecosystem services.
